Ottawa’s Village Saint-Louis Supportive Housing Project Integrates Care for Seniors
The Village Saint-Louis Supportive Housing Project in east-end Ottawa promises to be a vibrant model of healthy aging and community partnership, housing approximately 200 elderly residents. The uniquely integrated community for seniors is a project of Bruyère Continuing Care, the Perley and Rideau Veteran’s Health Centre, and a wide network of partners. As the largest provider of continuing care services in the Champlain Local Health Integration Network, Bruyère took the lead. The “outside the box” village is a mix of supportive housing, strong informal social networks, and formal services across the healthcare continuum, ensuring patients receive the right level of care at the right time. Highlighting solutions envisioned in our Leaders Roundtable on Integrated Care for Seniors, this Integration Incubator feature story by The Change Foundation includes an interview with Bruyère senior vice-president and CFO, Daniel Levac.
