Patient/Client Safety in Home Care: Request for Applications
The Change Foundation joined a group of major Canadian healthcare research organizations in sponsoring the first collaborative competition on patient/client safety in home care in Canada, to help identify the scope of the patient safety challenge in home care in this country. The sponsoring organizations – the Canadian Patient Safety Institute; Canadian Institutes of Health Research (Institutes of Health Services and Policy Research, Aging, and Circulatory and Respiratory Health); The Change Foundation; and Canadian Health Services Research Foundation – are committed to supporting research that generates new knowledge and that contributes to improving the safety of home care services for Canadian home care clients. The partner organizations are further committed to ensuring that this knowledge is shared among Canadian decision-makers, health professionals and other relevant knowledge users and will support the development of evidence-informed recommendations for policy and practice related to home care safety. issued in February 2010.
