Gay Wrye

Board Member, Ontario Hospital Association

Gay WryeGay Wrye joined The Change Foundation Board in November 2016 and was elected to the Board of the Ontario Hospital Association in November 2014. She was a member of the Board of Directors of Windsor Regional Hospital from 2005 until 2016 and she served as Chair of the Board from 2012 to 2014. During her tenure on the Board, she chaired many committees, including the Executive Committee; Governance, Nominating and Strategic Planning; Quality of Care; Advocacy and Family Mental Health and Addictions.

In 2013, Mrs. Wrye led the Board of Directors in a major initiative to approve the voluntary realignment of services between Windsor Regional Hospital (W.R.H.) and Hotel Dieu Grace Hospital. As a result of this realignment, W.R.H. is now responsible for all acute care services in Windsor and is one of the largest community hospitals in Ontario. She also served as a member of the Steering Committee for the Capital Planning phase for a proposed new acute care Hospital.

At the present time, Mrs. Wrye is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Windsor Family Health Team and the Alzheimer’s Society of Windsor and Essex County.

Mrs. Wrye is a graduate of Victoria Hospital School of Nursing and the University of Windsor Law School. Prior to her retirement in 2003, she practiced in the areas of Disability and Administrative Law. She also served as a Chair and Medical member for the Canada Pension Plan Review Tribunal from 2000 to 2006.

She is married and has one daughter.
