Executive Lead, Strategic Communications

Christa HaanstraChrista Haanstra joined The Change Foundation as the Executive Lead, Strategic Communications in February 2015.  In this role, she is responsible for overall communications and stakeholder relations functions.

She brings close to 20 years of senior-level experience working in the public sector and non- profits. Her past roles have spanned across the health care sector. Most recently, Christa was Executive Director, Strategy and Development at Renascent (2013). Prior to this, she was the Chief of Communications and Public Affairs at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital (2005-12). Her responsibilities included internal and external communications, branding, media relations and issues management. She was also former Director of Public Affairs at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH, 2000 – 2005), playing a lead role in the development of CAMH’s Transforming Lives public awareness campaign.

Christa holds a Bachelor of Social Science from the University of Ottawa, and a post-graduate Diploma in Corporate Communications from Seneca College. She has won numerous awards and recognition for her strategic communication, branding and social media work. When she’s not working, she can be found spending time with her family, running or taking photos.
