Executive Lead, Program Implementation
Genevieve Obarski joined The Change Foundation in April 2011 as Executive Lead, Program Implementation. In this position, Genevieve coordinates and implements the improvement activities as outlined in the Foundation’s strategic plans. She led the PATH project and the Regional Patient Engagement Learning Sessions from the Foundation’s 2010-2015 strategic plan. Her current work includes directing family caregiver and provider engagement activities and implementing on the ground innovation projects to improve the family caregiver experience. She also supports the Foundation’s evaluation framework and is active in stakeholder relations and engagement.
Genevieve has more than 30 years’ experience in the health care field. Prior to joining The Change Foundation, she worked as a Senior Quality Improvement Consultant at the Centre for Healthcare Quality Improvement in Toronto, directing operations and managing the Leadership for Performance Excellence program. Prior to coming to Ontario, she held a variety of management positions with the Veterans Affairs Healthcare System in Richmond, Virginia.
Genevieve obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in medical technology from Kent State University. She also completed specialist certification in blood banking from the University of Texas and held positions as a medical technologist and laboratory supervisor in a variety of academic medical centers, specializing in immunohaematology and transfusion science. She also holds a Master of Science degree in healthcare administration from Central Michigan University.
