Exploring Patient and Caregiver Perspectives On Integration in Ontario Healthcare

June 12, 2008

“I think that’s the weakest link in the system … dealing with and getting parents into proper good care … there’s not enough information given to the children.”

A summary of the focus-group research exploring patient and caregiver experiences, recommendations and perspectives on healthcare integration in Ontario. This research formed the basis of The Change Foundation’s first health integration report, Who Is the Puzzle Maker? Among the top learnings from this research: While patients are increasingly educated about health issues, they do not have a comparable understanding of the healthcare system. This knowledge would be very helpful for both patients and caregivers to ease their navigation through the system.
