This summary captures key learnings from digital voting by participants at The Change Foundation’s September 2009 knowledge translation symposium attended by over 50 nursing leaders, healthcare policy experts and knowledge translation (KT) practitioners. To prioritize identified challenges and catalyze debate at the symposium, participants used keypads to vote on questions about challenges and critical factors in effective KT, and successful and unsucessful strategies. Responses to some questions varied depending on participants’ professional role, helping to highlight the need for researchers and policy-makers to understand one another’s priorities and perspectives.
